Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI)

As the name suggests, IMI combines interactivity and multimedia with well-designed instruction, resulting in a comprehensive and effective electronic learning experience. Camber is a leader in the design and development of IMI. Our team of experts recognizes that your project is unique and requires a customized solution. Whether it’s the analysis and design of new IMI or the redesign of existing IMI, Camber has your solution.

Our lower levels of IMI provide students limited control of content presentation with the opportunity for drill and practice and detailed feedback, while our higher levels of IMI immerse students in real-world environments and allow them to solve problems and perform complex tasks.

Level 1 - Passive Level 1

IMI involves the student acting solely as a receiver of information. The presentation is typically linear with very little control over the sequence. There are usually no student interactions or assessments.

Level 1 - Passive

Level 2 – Limited Participation

During Level 2 IMI the student is given moderate control over the sequence. The student responds to instructional cues and makes decisions. The path of Level 2 IMI varies based on those decisions and immediate or delayed feedback is provided.

Level 2 – Limited Participation

Level 3 – Complex Participation Level 3

IMI involves highly realistic scenario and equipment simulations with very little student prompting. The student is forced to make very difficult decisions in a real-world environment. Branching is complex and is based on decisions made throughout the instruction. As the student makes decisions the situation changes as does the culminating feedback that is provided at the end of the instruction.

Level 3 – Complex Participation

Level 4 – Real-Time Participation

During Level 4 IMI the student is completely immersed in a real-world environment with real-world interactions, cues, decisions and consequences.

Level 4 – Real-Time Participation
